canvas prints

Our giclee canvas prints are ready to hang.   You do not need to frame them.   They are printed onto our gorgeous cotton canvas.   The canvas is then stretched around wooden stretcher bars.   The canvas is extended around the edge of the bars.   This "frameless" way of presenting the picture gives them the look of floating on the wall.

Our wooden bars have a thickness of 2cm, which means that your canvas prints will protrude 2cm from the wall.   These are our favourite type of stretcher bars as they achieve that lovely contemporary feel without making the picture look or feel too heavy.

Our canvas pictures are finished with a subtle varnish which enhances the colour and protects the print.

paper prints

Our giclee paper prints are printed onto torchon paper.   This is our favourite type of paper and has a slight relief to it, similar to that used by watercolour artists.   After printing, we finish our paper prints with a matt varnish to protect them.

Small £15 paper prints.   The image size of our small paper prints is 6.75 inches x 5.25 inches and they are mounted into a mount of 3 inches width.   The overall mount size is 13 inches x 11 inches.

Large £20 paper prints.   The image size of our large paper prints are 13.6 inches x 5.6 inches.   They are mounted into a mount of 19.5 inches x 11 inches.

There is a choice of mount colour on our paper prints -  antique white or black.

Our canvas

There are so many grades of canvas on the market, ranging from the very cheap, flimsy, lookalike canvas to the very expensive, thicker, quality, real cotton canvas.   You can see and feel the difference quite easily.   We don't compromise on our canvas.  We buy in the best and that's a promise.

Our commitment to quality

When we first started producing prints, we made a commitment to produce only quality prints.   We have remained true to that.  It would be very easy to cut our production costs by using cheap materials.  But we won't do it.

The giclee prints that we produce are of the same quality that one would expect to find in an art gallery.   The giclees that we produce on quality canvas or torchon paper can not be compared to cheaply produced prints.

We strive to keep our prices low.  We do not do this by comprising on quality.   We do it by producing our prints ourselves and then selling them directly to you.

what is giclee?

A giclee (pronounced jee-clay) is a type of very high quality print.   Giclee comes from the French word "gicler" meaning "to squirt."   Giclee prints use inkjet technology and are far more sophisticated than your normal dektop printer.

Lighfast inks that are acid free and lightfast, are sprayed onto the paper or canvas.   It is believed that this process achieves the closest match technically possible to the original piece of artwork.  Giclees are known for their longevity.

Giclee prints are the choice of art galleries, museums and collectors.
